Hesham Sadek

Chief, Division of Cardiology and Director, Sarver Heart Center, University of Arizona

Dr. Sadek is the chief of the Division of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine and director of the Sarver Heart Center since May 2024. He is recognized internationally for his research into the activation of mechanisms involved in the regeneration of damaged heart muscle. His seminal discovery of the newborn mammalian heart’s ability to regenerate has significantly altered the landscape of cardiac biology.
